Mary Eileen Wilson, 86, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on June 19, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas.
Eileen was born in the Panamá Canal Zone to Agnes and Frank Rabiteau on November 28, 1930. She met her loving husband, Ed, while attending Balboa High School and after several years of courting, they married on September 13, 1952. Eileen enjoyed a long, fulfilling life both in the Canal Zone and San Antonio. She spent many years working for the US Army Core of Engineers before retiring to spend more time with her family. During retirement, Eileen and Ed traveled the USA in their truck and fifth wheel, spent many nights Square Dancing with friends and volunteered for several years with The Arc.
Eileen is preceded in death by her parents, Agnes and Frank and her sister Jean Coffee. Eileen is survived by her husband Ed; sons William (Rio) Wilson and Michael (Geneva) Wilson; daughter Virginia (Charles) Kackley; and four grandchildren Reed and Mary Kackley, Alex Wilson and Joshua Wilson.
A Viewing and Vigil Service will be held at Puentes & Sons at 14315 Judson Road, San Antonio on Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Neumann Church on Monday, June 26, 2017 at 11:30 am with Reverend Octavio A. Muguerza officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum at 17501 Nacogdoches Road, San Antonio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association either online at www.alz.org or by mail, send a check to Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090-6011.
