Mary Irene Pena, a beloved member of the San Antonio community, passed away on March 14th in her hometown. She was born on May 9, 1960, in San Antonio, Texas, and went on to lead a fulfilling life dedicated to serving others.
Mary devoted over 25 years of her life to the Medical Industry, specializing as a Cardiac Sonographer. Her commitment to helping others and making a difference in the lives of patients left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Colleagues often praised her for her professionalism and compassionate care.
Among Mary's proudest accomplishments was the joy she found in raising her son, Mark. Family meant everything to Mary, and she poured her love and wisdom into every moment spent with them. She treasured nothing more than the time she shared with her granddaughter, creating cherished memories that will be forever held dear.
In her personal life, Mary found solace in the simple pleasures of spending time with family and friends. Her warm personality and kind heart touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of love and generosity that will continue to inspire others.
Mary is survived by her husband, Mark Sr., their son Mark II (married to Monica), as well as her mother Francesca, brother Paul, granddaughter Natalia, and many nieces and nephews. In this time of loss, they find comfort in knowing that Mary's spirit will always be with them.
She is predeceased by her father Pablo Martinez and sister Lorraine Martinez, who will undoubtedly welcome her with open arms in the afterlife.
A visitation will be held on March 19th at Mission Concepcion Catholic Church in San Antonio, 10:30am with a Rosary to be recited at 11am. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 12 noon at Mission Concepcion Catholic church and interment to follow at First Memorial Burial Park in Von Ormy. These services provide an opportunity for family and friends to come together to celebrate Mary's life and bid farewell to a remarkable soul who brought light into the world.
Mary Irene Pena may have left this world, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May she rest in peace.
