Neal Ellsworth Lof

Neal Ellsworth Lof, passed away on Saturday February 26, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 88 after a brief battle with lung cancer. Neal was born in Lake Preston, South Dakota to Gus Lof and Esther (Johnson) Lof.

Neal was very proud of the fact that his father served in World War I and his brother in World War II so he joined the Air Force in 1953 where he served Post-War. Neal continued to serve his country in the Air Force Reserves as well as 30 years in civil service. Neal was a dedicated servant of his faith in the Lord and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Neal was preceded in death by his parents Gus and Ester, brother Roy, sister Alice and wife Joyce.

He is survived by his daughter Melanie Mayfield and husband David, son Mark Lof and wife Mims, step-daughter Julie Gowen and husband Bill, grandchildren Katherine Mayfield, Aaron Mayfield, Romie Lof, twins Darcy and Delton Lof and William Gowen.

Viewing will be held Sunday March 27, 2022 from 12:00 to 16:00 at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapel 14315 Judson Road San Antonio, TX 78233 and private burial on Monday March 28, 2022 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
