Onofre R. Toscano went to be with our Lord on December 10, 2018. Oni was born April 17,1945 in Tecomán, Colima and was preceded in death by his parents José and Cristina (Ramos), brother Narciso, and sisters Guadalupe and Mariana. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary A Toscano, children Kristie (David), Deborah, and Andy (Kimberly), grandchildren Cadence, Jonathan, Norah, Cory, Luke, and Camila, sisters Concepción (Arcadio) and Ramona (Esteban), and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Oni worked for 25 years at his beloved parish of St. James the Apostle. After retirement, he went on to serve as a chaplain at Embrace Hospice. As a chaplain he visited the sick and prayed with them and their families during life’s hardest moments. He was a great comfort to all he met.
Oni was a natural born instructor and taught marriage preparation, Bible Study, and Life Skills classes throughout the years. He loved his family, gardening, soccer, and most of all praising and serving our Lord. He will be greatly missed.
