Orlando Narvaez Jr, 51, passed away suddenly on September 6, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on June 18, 1973, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He is the loving son of Teodora G. Narvaez and Orlando (Josie) Narvaez. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Jose Narvaez Sr., Mr. & Mrs. Reyes Garza, and Mr. & Mrs. Andres Ruiz Sr.
Orlando “Nano” is married to Patricia Hoyt Narvaez who has been the love of his life for 29 years. Together they created a wonderful family with 4 beautiful children Miranda, Miriah, Orlando Jr, and Madisyn. He lived for his family and worked tirelessly to meet all their wants and needs. He beamed with pride when he spoke of his wife or children, because they were the light of his life. Among his greatest accomplishments, was being able to add the title of ‘Coach’ to his resume, when he began coaching his two youngest children’s basketball teams. He instilled in them the importance of family through his own love and actions with his parents, siblings, and extended family. He was the life of the party due to his loudness, but mostly because of his contagious laughter. Nano always referred to himself as “the wise one” and would offer his wisdom in all situations regardless of whether it was wanted or not.
Orlando was a graduate of Mary Carroll High School in Corpus Christi, TX in 1992. He began playing basketball at an early age and this became the building block of his competitive spirit and love for all sports. His collegiate athletic career began while attending National Christian University where he played basketball and baseball. Over the years he also became an avid golfer, which he enjoyed with his brothers, countless friends, and family, and of most recent -his children. His competitiveness did not end with sports. Nano was the reigning egg toss champion for many years until his daughters and nephews dethroned him. Nano also gave it his all when participating in sack races, horseshoes, cornhole, bowling, ping pong, wheelbarrow races, and many other competitions at all the family gatherings.
He is survived by his parents, Teodora Narvaez and Orlando (Josie) Narvaez. His wife Patricia Hoyt Narvaez and his four children Miranda (Patrick) Narvaez, Miriah Narvaez, Orlando Narvaez Jr, and Madisyn Narvaez. His siblings: Marisol Narvaez, Omar (Kathy) Narvaez, Myreia (Chris) Benner, Andres Jose Narvaez, and Adan (Denisa) Narvaez. Along with many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
