Patrick Michael Hogan

February 15, 1947 — April 25, 2010

Patrick Michael Hogan, born to Virginia M. Gough and Samuel Mason Hogan on 15 Feb 1947 in Heidelberg, Germany passed away unexpectedly on 25 April 2010. The son of a career Army officer, he spent his formative years in several different Army bases around the U.S and Germany. Upon graduation from High School in Alexandria Virginia, he was called to serve our nation during the Vietnam era where he served with honor and excelled as a member of the military Intelligence Corps as an aerial photographer and image interpreter. Upon his return from his tour of duty, Pat left the Army and attended the Catholic University of Quito, Ecuador followed by a successful career in professional photography. Pat lived in Ecuador for over thirty years. There he immersed himself in the culture, mastered Spanish, contributed to Colonial, Folkloric, and Architectural historic awareness and very quickly became a renown and published photographer for many cultural enterprises. Pat, an aviation enthusiast, quickly became a fixture at the Quito International Airport, assisting his friends in basic aircraft maintenance as well as hang gliding flights. In 1991 he moved to Corpus Christi, Texas. In April of 1992, Pat charted a new career path in electronics repair with South Texas Business Systems and soon moved to San Antonio, Texas where he remained a valued member of the team until his untimely death. Pat, our beloved Pachi was a loving big brother, a dear uncle, loyal son, and irreplaceable friend. He was tremendously talented, witty and intelligent. A generous soul he lived for work and his friends and family. He was a private man; he lived a quiet unpretentious life. Passionate about his service to his country and proud to be a veteran. His legacy is that of loyal friend, dedicated employee and loving brother, uncle and son. As we mourn his untimely passing we celebrated the many gifts he shared with us and we are comforted in knowing that he is once again reunited with his beloved mother Virginia and father Sam, who preceded him in death. Patrick is survived by his Sister, Lieutenant Colonel (RET) Mary Hogan-McPeak of Clarks Summit, Pa., Brother, Major William Hogan of Washington D.C., Step-mother Susana Hogan of Corpus Christi, Texas and Step Sister Soraya Martinez, of San Antonio, Texas. He is also survived by his many dear friends and co-workers in whom he will be remembered as a source of consistency and reliability. Our eternal gratitude and thanks to Mrs. Terry McFee and all of his friends and Co-workers of South Texas Business Systems for their support and friendship during this difficult time.
