Pedro Talamantez Tenorio, affectionately known as "Pio," passed away in San Antonio on October 7, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on June 30, 1935, in San Antonio, Pedro lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a passion helping others.
Pedro was a very generous man, always willing to give the shirt off his back to those in need. His remarkable sense of humor brought joy to everyone around him. He was admired not just for his kindness but also for his resilience; despite battling cancer, he remained a beacon of strength and optimism, often finding the silver lining in challenging situations.
His military service during the Korean War earned him the Korean Service Medal, a testament to his dedication and bravery. Pedro loved people and deeply appreciated human connections. An avid reader and self-taught pianist, he found solace in music, often sharing this love with family and friends.
A man of many hobbies, Pedro enjoyed playing handball and ping pong, always bringing a competitive spirit and determination to his endeavors. He cherished memories of piano playing, road trips to the coast, and heartfelt conversations with loved ones.
Pedro leaves behind his beloved sons, David Tenorio, Pete Tenorio, Roland Tenorio, and Damian Tenorio, who will always remember him as the best father he could be, instilling values of generosity and humor in their lives.
He is reunited in rest with his wife, Lindsay Tenorio, as well as his siblings David Tenorio, Carrie Tenorio, Alice Tenorio, and Eusebio Tenorio, who shared in the laughter and warmth of a life well-lived.
A graveside service will be held in Pedro’s honor on November 4, 2024, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, located at 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78209, beginning at 1:15 PM(arrive at 1pm at pavillion 2) The Rosary will be at St James on Theo Ave on November 3 5:00-6:30.
Pedro Talamantez Tenorio's legacy of generosity, laughter, and love will continue to inspire all those who knew him. His memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
