Pete Isidro Vallejo “Uncle Pete” passed away from this life and was welcomed into the gates of heaven on April 14, 2023, at the young age of 82 years. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 15, 1940, to Pedro Carlos and Pilar Ahumada Vallejo.
Uncle Pete will be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews. He was the last of 14 siblings; preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Carlos and Pilar Ahumada Vallejo; brothers, Damascus (Mac) Vallejo, Cecilio Salvador Vallejo, Bernardo (Benny) Vallejo, Richard (infant) Vallejo, and Armando Vallejo; sisters, Clara Rodriguez, Consuelo Zaragosa, Mercedes (Teresa) Flores, Margarita (Infant) Vallejo, Margaret (Maggie) De La O, Mariana Gonzales, Juanita Robinson, and Rosalinda Pilar (Rose) Posey.
He was always an uncle that everyone wished they had. We loved him so much and now he will be watching over and guiding us. Uncle Pete loved his 7&7 along with watching his favorite teams on television. He loved the San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Cubs, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, and Chicago Bears. No one could ever convince him to go against his teams. What Uncle Pete enjoyed the most in life was spending time with his family and listening to his Tejano and Conway Twitty.
Uncle Pete served his country with dual services; the United States Army from April 23, 1962 to October 22, 1962, then went into the Navy where he served from January 29, 1965 to April 30, 1965. He loved his country and was always a shining example of a true and proud veteran. A true inspiration to all who knew and loved him.
Although Uncle Pete never had children, he treated all of us as his own ever since the day we were born. He was our uncle and we loved him so much. No matter what time of day, he was always available for anyone who needed him, especially his family.
We all enjoyed fond memories of Uncle Pete spoiling us, especially when it came to shopping for school clothes. He always had a smile on his face, which made our saddest day more enjoyable.
