In 67 years of life that Ray lived, he was so many things to so many people. He was born in Del Rio, Texas to Ramon Ruiz, Sr. and Ana Belia.
Ray was a hero, friend, husband, brother, father, grandfather (Popo), and an uncle with a heart as big as the Rio Grande. He gave a helping hand to anyone that was in need, leading an ear to listen, or his arms for a hug.
He served in the United States Army for 10 years, being deployed for Desert Storm and the Gulf War.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, sister: Linda Garcia and son-in-law: Art Ortiz. He survived by Angela his loving wife of 18 years; sons: Shawn and (wife) Erika Ruiz and Brandon Ruiz; daughter: Katherine Ortiz and (husband) Shawn Moore; sister: Liz and (husband) Richard Soto, Regina and (husband) Jimmy Cannon; grandchildren: Ian and Irie Ortiz, Gavin, Grace Emma, Hayden Addison, Dakota and Anastasia Ruiz.
He will not be forgotten, but greatly missed by numerous other family members and friends.
