Raquel De La Garza, 86 years old born January 16, 1939, in San Antonio, Texas passed away peacefully on January 17th, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
A proud graduate of Fox Tech High School, Raquel pursued her passion for creativity and earned her cosmetology certification, specializing in hairstyling and hair coloring. She worked her way up from being an assistant to successfully running her own salon, where she brought confidence and beauty to her clients. Later in life, she worked as a dedicated packer at Kelly Air Force Base, forming lifelong friendships and making cherished memories.
Raquel was a woman of many talents, with a true artist’s spirit. She loved drawing, painting, and crafting, and her creativity brightened the lives of those around her. She was especially known for her beautifully decorated Christmas tree each year, a tradition that brought joy to all who saw it.
Raquel was the beloved daughter of Vidal De La Garza and Clemencia Contreras. She is survived by her children: Fred (Maggie) , Lisa (Albert), Marrisa (Richard), and Crystal (Michael). She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren: Sabina, Andrea, Michelle, Matt, Gabrielle, Mark, Melanie, Maggie, Alyssa, Celeste, Kevin, and Cross, 14 great-grandchildren, her siblings: Frances Flores, Vidal De La Garza, and Pauline Franco, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Raquel will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and the love she shared with her family and friends. Her legacy will continue to shine through the lives she touched.
