Raul Gallegos

Raul Gallegos, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on December 31, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on December 21, 1943, in Devine, Texas, Raul was a vibrant presence in the lives of those who knew him. He exemplified kindness and friendliness, famously never meeting a stranger and bringing joy to every gathering he attended.

Raul proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, a testament to his dedication and commitment. After his military service, he embraced a life filled with diverse interests and hobbies that showcased his curious spirit. Raul was an avid reader and a self-proclaimed UFO enthusiast. His love for movies and animals further illustrated the depth of his passions and the light he brought into the lives of his family and friends.

He leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory forward. Raul is survived by his devoted wife, Ramona Gallegos; his son, Matthew Gallegos; and his daughters, Cathy San Miguel (David), and Vanessa Gallegos. He cherished his siblings, including brothers Rudy Gallegos (Gina); Albert Gallegos (Luda); Esteban Gallegos (Helen); Ruben Gallegos; and sister Mary Gallegos.

Raul's legacy will also be honored by his grandchildren, including Joshua, Elijah, Celeste, Venice, Georgia, Felicity, Amelia, Julian, and Ryan, as well as his great-grandchildren, Donovan, Amari, and Angelo.

Raul is preceded in death by his father, Esteban Gallegos, and his mother, Corina Gallegos. His warmth, sense of humor, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Visitation will be held on January 23, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a Prayer Service at 6:30 PM, all taking place at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels-South, located at 3520 South Flores Street, San Antonio, TX 78204. A Graveside Service will follow on January 24, 2025, beginning at 10:15 AM at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, located at 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78209.

Raul Gallegos' spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and he will be remembered for the remarkable life he led and the love he shared.
