Rene Lynn Fletcher

Rene Lynn Fletcher, born on September 14, 1955 in Dallas, Texas passed away on September 4, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. A respected figure in the field of journalism and communications, Rene dedicated her career to sharing the stories that needed to be heard. She began her journey by graduating from the University of Austin's Journalism department in 1978, after which she worked for various newspapers and television news organizations. Her passion for communication and storytelling eventually led her to the San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD), where she served as a communications writer and editor, significantly contributing to the educational community.

Rene was known for her compassionate and kind spirit, fuelled by an insatiable curiosity about the world around her. As a vegetarian, she embraced a lifestyle that reflected her values of compassion and respect for all living beings. Outside of her professional pursuits, she took great pleasure in genealogy, devoting time to tracing her family tree, revealing the richness of her heritage. Additionally, her cherished 1970 VW Beetle stood as a testament to her vibrant personality and love for nostalgic adventures.

Rene is survived by her loving cousins: Peggy Fletcher Dostie, Kim Fletcher, Myrna Filman, Shelly Roehrs, Dwight Fletcher, and Michael Seaman. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lynn Seaman; her father, Bernard Fletcher; and her stepmother, Ellen Fletcher. She leaves behind her turtoises, her favorite being King Tut.
