REYMUNDO "REY" HINOJOSA III

Our beloved husband, father, son, and brother passed away suddenly Friday, October 28th while enjoying a glorious afternoon with his wife.

Rey was born on May 24, 1969 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Reymundo Jr. and Elia Hinojosa. He played youth sports, high school baseball and was an accomplished guitarist and drummer, graduating from King High School in 1987. He served in the United States Air Force from 1987-1995. As a Senior Airman, Rey proudly served his country in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm in Iraq. He spent time stationed in South Korea and Michigan. He also carried his athletic talent into the Air Force, playing baseball for the Pacific All Stars in Korea representing the USA.

Rey married the love of his life, Sandy, in 1991. They recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. Together, they completed his service in the Air Force while he was an air traffic controller. Rey then graduated from Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He and Sandy then relocated to San Antonio shortly after. Rey enjoyed his work as a systems administrator for the Lowe's Corporate Data Center. Along with their two daughters, Jessica and Angelina, they enjoyed life and basked in God's blessings and creating family memories: concerts, baseball games, hunting, vacations, family events, and more. His pride was in his daughters and their accomplishments.

Rey is preceded in death by his Mother in Law, Amelia Velasquez and his Sister in Law, Andrea Velasquez.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sandy; his daughters, Jessica Rae and Angelina Loreta; his parents Reymundo, Jr and Elia Hinojosa; Father in Law, Vidal Velasquez (Mary); his sister, Chrissie Aldrich (husband – Chris); brother in law, Jesse Flores (wife – Velma); sister in law, Lisa San Miguel (husband – Arnold); brother in law, Andrew Trevino; brother in law, Billy Velasquez (wife- Sheena); nieces and nephews: Chris, Joshua, and Jacob Aldrich, Miranda and Marcos Flores, Evelyn and Joe Alex San Miguel, and Fabian and Aaron Trevino. Rey also leaves behind numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, lifelong friends, a loving church community, and his non-hunting bird dog, Kama.

The family wishes to thank all who have shared our heartbreak, stepped up at our time of great need, and lifted us up during this devastating and shocking loss. For those wishing to make contributions in lieu of flowers, a fund has been arranged at www.youcaring.com Account name: Help Rey's Daughters
