Rickey Lynn Jackson, a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025, in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas. He was born on June 17, 1951, in the same city, where he spent his life surrounded by family, friends, and the natural beauty of the outdoors.
Rickey was known for his warm and welcoming personality; he always made everyone feel at home around him. A devoted Christian, he was baptized as a Brother in Christ and lived his faith through his actions and relationships. His love extended beyond his family to his cherished pup pup, Woody, who brought him much joy throughout his life.
Among his many hobbies and interests, Rickey was an avid fisherman and hunter, often finding solace in the great outdoors. His passion for baseball was evident as he proudly took on the role of a Little League coach, sharing his love for the game with his grandkids and the youth of the community. He was also an avid fan of John Wayne, dedicated gardener, and a fan of classic country music.
Rickey leaves behind a legacy of love and memories cherished by his family. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Kathy Moore; daughter, Jennifer (Tom); bonus son, David Kendall; brother, Roy; sister, Sandra (Johnnie); stepdaughter, Connie (Stephan); stepsons, Michael and Josh (Anna); as well as numerous grandchildren including Caleb, Carlie, Hailey, Emily, H, Marley, Xander, Maisyn, Tyler, Scarlett, Olivia, Isaac, Serina, and DJ. Rickey also enjoyed the joy of being a great-grandfather to Kaizen and Koa. He was blessed with numerous nieces and nephews who will feel his absence deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Brown and Gussie; wife, Sherry; daughter, Joy; and brothers, Dale (Lanona), Bolly, and Lee, along with his niece, Danna.
Rickey Lynn Jackson's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His warmth, kindness, and dedication to family and faith have left an indelible mark that will be remembered fondly for generations to come.
Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 10:00 AM a Memorial Service will be held at Wilson County Cowboy Church on 100 Hickory Run, La Vernia, Texas 78121, with a reception to follow at New Berlin Community Center on 8815 FM 775, New Berlin, Texas 78155.
