Robert "Trey" W. Burge, III passed from this life on August 4, 2023 at the age of 29 and entered
the Kingdom of Heaven. Trey was born to Jennifer and Bobby Burge in San Antonio, Texas on
May 12, 1994. Trey lived in San Antonio and Converse, Texas his entire life. Trey is preceded in
death by his grandparents Robert and Helen Burge and his grandfather Kenneth Suhler. Trey is
survived by his sister Jordan Burge, his parents Jennifer Minnick and Bobby Burge, his
grandmother Cindi Smith, his uncle's Russell Suhler and Roy Burge and several cousins.
Trey attended and graduated from Taft High School where he found his love for ROTC and the
drill team. Trey loved to compete at drill team events throughout Texas and even traveled out of
state to compete at nationals. Trey continued to progress his drill team skills and competed long
after he graduated high school. Trey loved nature and every animal in its kingdom. Trey had a
very wide array of passions that included his love for God, history, natural science, animals, his
family, and friends. Trey loved acquiring knowledge and was a trivia buff and could talk about
every detail of any subject ranging from politics to religion to history to animals to wars to
fighter jets to whales. If he read something, that information was locked in a vault and could be
recited with great detail years later. Trey always loved a good debate and would never allow
himself to lose one. Once Trey set his mind to a goal, there was no stopping him. He once
completed a half marathon with less than 6 weeks of training. Trey was an adventurous free-
spirited soul that didn't like to be tied down at any one spot too long. He loved to see to his
surroundings wherever his whim led him. Trey loved to help animals and people and never
required to be paid for his help. Trey spent time in ministry work with the church where he
enjoyed helping others. Trey worked for some time as an engineering technician at a couple of
geotechnical engineering firms where he performed laboratory testing of soils, aggregates, and
concrete. Trey's quick math skills helped out with his jobs.
Trey kept a tight circle of friends and family with his mom and his sister serving as his inner
circle. Trey left this world too soon with so many loved ones that miss him.
