Robert E. Brown, Jr.

March 6, 1931 — December 18, 2018

Bob, as he was known by to his friends and family, left this earth on Tuesday, December 18th, 2018 at the age of 87. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert E. Brown Sr. and Sara E. Wilson-Brown, Brother Alan Brown, Wife Mary Ann Brown and companion Peggy Hadley.

He is survived by his Brother Dale Brown, Sister Dorothy Evans, Daughter Elizabeth "Beth" Ham (Greg), Son, Robert Kevin "Bobby" Brown (Dennis), Rebecca "Becky" Bryant (Steve), Daughter Lori Grossman (Scott) and Granddaughter Maddison F. Grossman. Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Bob was born and spent his youth in Pennsylvania. He landed in Texas thanks to the United States Army. It was during his military duty that he met his Wife, Mary Ann Hundley in a typing class at San Antonio College. They married and produced 4 children which he cherished.

His careers spanned from Pharmaceutical Salesman, Sales Representative (Westinghouse) Human Resource Manager and Head of Safety (Friedrich Refrigeration) Psychology Professor (San Antonio College) and Assistant Director to the Evening Division (San Antonio College).

Of his careers , the one that he treasured the most was that of being a Psychology Professor. He loved teaching with a passion to the point of teaching way into his 70's. When asked why he did not retire earlier, he responded that he was waiting for an early retirement package.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting deer and dove. The coast is where you would find him on family vacations in the Summer. Christmas's would be spent about every other year between his childhood home in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, Denver Colorado and San Antonio, Texas. Later in life he would have the opportunity to visit the Holy Land of Israel, go on a cruise to Alaska, visit Branson, Missouri. You could also find him attending numerous plays out at the Dinner Playhouse in Bulverde.

He was a lover of creatures....dogs, cats, squirrels, raccoons.. You name it. We had pets from an early age and it would not be unheard of him to bring a rabbit or two home, even an armadillo once.

All thru his life his faith in God was never ending. St. Matthews UMC was his rock in his faith. He would be found there leading Sunday School classes, attending Sunday School classes, cooking breakfast with his Men's Group on Sunday mornings and greeting Parishioners before Sunday services . Monday nights and Wednesday nights would be Bible Study time. And if you were looking for the Pastor on Thursday Mornings, yes, that would be Bob that greeted you either in person or over the phone.

Bob will be missed by many.
