Robert was the seventh child of seven children born to Wilbert Ward and Salome Chambers in Shreveport, LA. Robert graduated from Fair Park High school in Shreveport, La, where he played trombone in the band and served as Drum Major his senior year. After graduation he joined the Army and gave 4 years in the service to his country-20 years dedicated to the medical field in the civilian sector.
Robert was part of the Anesthesia Technician Team at SAMMC for 18 months and previously hospitals across San Antonio and North Carolina. Robert truly enjoyed his career working with patients, all of the wonderful people with whom he formed friendships and had the pleasure of working. He is well remembered by his medical team as a true professional, gentle, generous, hardworking and, most of all, kind man.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Wilbert Ward and Ms. Salome Chambers, his daughter La Toya, son Robert Jr, and his brother Clarence Chambers.
He will truly be missed by his loving wife, Celethia, their sons and daughter-Kevin, Matthew (Roxane), Tarren (Andrea), Marcus, Darius, Jazmaine and Tayshawn, their grandchildren, who will miss their “Paw Paw”, three brothers, Wilbert (Lillian), Donald (Edith), Johnnie and two sisters, Mary and Doris, and a wonderful network of close family, friends and coworkers.
He leaves to cherish his memory from his “old stomping ground” nieces; Tina (Daniel), Kerneatha, Tai, Ashleigh (John); nephews; Damien, Darron (Erica), and Nickolas. We’ll miss you Uncle Cat!
Please keep Robert’s family in your thoughts and prayers. Until we meet again… “later-later”
