ROBERT "BOB" GAYLE LEVY (October 19, 1935-February 16, 2023)
Robert Gayle Levy, beloved sibling, uncle, and friend, passed away on February 16. He had been
ill for several years, but made every effort to participate in family events, as recently as this past
Christmas.
Robert was pre-deceased by his parents, Julius and Clara Lee Levy, his sister, Linda Elton and her
husband, Jack Elton, his brother-in-law, Neal Salter, and two nephews, Michael James Levy and
Richard Salter. He is survived by his siblings, Julius (Bubba) Levy and wife Brenda, Barbara
Salter, and Mike Levy and wife Mary, as well as his long-time friend and caregiver Paul Fric, in
addition to many nieces and nephews. In addition, Bob was godfather to Alejandra (Aleluz)
Gerard Robledo.
Bob is remembered fondly to this day by co-workers at Braniff International, Southwest Airlines,
and Continental Airlines. During his career in the airline industry, he enjoyed traveling
whenever he could. His favorite trips were to Hawaii and Hong Kong, as well as any trips where
his traveling companions were his parents.
He loved to cook and at one point, he opened a restaurant in The Woodlands area, the Gazebo.
His recipes were popular with family and friends, and the bread pudding was a favorite.
He had a special love for kids, especially for those who could call him “Uncle Robert.” He also
loved dogs, and collecting memorabilia and antiques.
