Robert James "Bobcat” Jenkins passed away April 1, 2020 in San Antonio with his loving wife by his side holding his hand. Robert was born on October 23, 1954. He spent the first half of his life in south Bexar County. Horses, cattle, and other farm animals had been part of life since childhood. He enjoyed the country life; living and working outside. By 15 years of age he was hauling cattle for J.B. Hill. He worked cattle alongside his Dad and other kinfolk throughout the years. One such ranch was Bill Miller’s on 87. He had a few jobs throughout his 55 years but he was a Truck Driver by trade and proud to be part of such an elite group. He was a cowboy and a Professional Bull Hauler. He was a sharp dresser with a sharp tongue yet always a gentleman. When it came down to it family and friends meant the most to him. He drove many miles and had a few wives along the way. His first marriage had been short but gave him a daughter. Then after so many miles Bobcat took a wrong turn. But being the Professional Driver that he was that turn was only a detour which led straight to the road of becoming a great dad for his daughter. Along this road, 17 years ago, he met an angel at The Hitchin Post, in south Bexar Co. He wanted to protect her, make her happy, and share his life with her. They got married at the Hitchin Post surrounded by family and friends. This road brought 3 sons into his life. As he watched them grow older his love and respect for them continued growing as well. He loved being a husband, a father of 4, and grandpa of 6. He finally had it all. He had many wonderful years as a family man. When his health started to decline a few years back he refused to let it interfere with fishing or mowing the grass. The grass was his canvas some might say. Every row mowed was perfectly aligned with the other. He still enjoyed being outside on his porch watching his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his dad, C.D. Jenkins; mother, Frances McCune; mom, Alene Carey; and brothers, Clifton D. “Bubba” Jenkins, Mike “Jethro” Jenkins, and Roger McCune and beloved uncles and aunts. He is survived by his wife, Gwen D. (Cox) Jenkins; daughter Amanda Gail Jenkins Wright (Austin), sons Keith Graf (Tammy), Jacob Graf (Kari), and Randy Graf (Karla); grandkids Jose L. Reyes III, Melissa Graf, Alex Graf, Serenity Graf, Madison Graf, Mason Graf; Aunt Agnes Magill; sisters Linda Ivey (Warren), Karen Kinser, Audrey Herrera (Robert); brothers Victor McCune (Amy), Burt McCune (Myoung), Randy Morrow (Rhonda), Johnny Morrow (Sharon); lifelong friend Randy Mutz; and many cousins, nephews, nieces, in-laws and many friends. He will be missed by so many people. He never met stranger, always had something to say. Sometimes he made you laugh, sometimes blush, but always made you feel like a friend. Thank you to Dr Chun Tan and all the doctors, nurses, and specialists he had throughout the years. “Where there’s a will there’s a way”
