Robert Kleberg Ellis Sr.

Robert Kleberg Ellis, Sr. passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday December 4, 2012. He was born on the family ranch near Berclair in Goliad County, Texas, on November 15, 1922. He was reared in San Antonio and served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. After the war, he graduated from Trinity University, then returned to active duty with the Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Corregidor. He was in the savings and loan and mortgage finance business in Texas, Colorado, the Middle East and the Caribbean. He was a loving husband and father who was devoted to his family and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy, children Dru, Clay and his wife Dodie, Peter and his wife Susan, and Laura Ellis Kuivenhoven and eight grandchildren.
