The Lord called Robert “Mark” Cowgill, 62, of San Antonio, Texas, home on September 25, 2017, after a lengthy illness. Mark’s life was etched with devotion to our Lord and his family always opening his household to spiritual study and fellowship. As a daddy he never missed a t-ball game, softball game or dance recital for “his girls”. Whether in the stands, sidelines or coaching, Mark was the picture of a loving daddy. His celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, September 29, 2017 at Oak Hills Church Crownridge Campus (19595 Interstate 10 Frontage Road, San Antonio, Texas 78257), a time of gathering will begin at 12:30 PM. Officiating the service will be David Bagley, Elder of Oak Hills Church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery at Cordi-Marian (11624 Culebra Road, San Antonio, Texas 78253). Mark was born March 16, 1955 in Vivian, Louisiana to Robert Frank Cowgill and Alyce Cowgill. Mark graduated from North Caddo High School in 1973 and University of Louisiana at Monroe in 1977. On August 13, 1977, Mark married the love of his life Debbie Payne, college sweetheart, in Alexandria, Louisiana. Mark was a CPA and employed at Highland Hospital for 28 years and worked as a CFO. As a devoted family man, Mark was always active, playing golf, fishing and hunting with his father in law and watching football. During the summer months, you could find Mark with his family at the lake waterskiing, tubing and always extending a teaching hand to his daughters’ friends to waterski. Mark is survived by his wife of 40 years, Debbie Payne Cowgill, of San Antonio, Texas; his two daughters, Heather Cowgill Peacock, her husband Joshua Ryan Peacock of San Antonio, Texas and Hope Cowgill Pedraza and her husband Paul Sebastian Pedraza of San Antonio, Texas; his sister Alesa Cowgill Drake and husband Dane Drake of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, his brother Stacy Shawn Cowgill and wife Susan Thomas Cowgill of Stonewall, Louisiana and multiple nieces and nephews.
