Robert Miller

August 27, 1938 — June 1, 2008

LTC Robert Miller (Ret.) peacefully entered Gods presence on June 1, 2008 surrounded by his loving family.  He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Lewis Miller; children Julie Waters and husband Wayne Martin and Bob Miller and wife Norma Garza Miller.  He is also survived by 4 grandchildren who lovingly called him Pa Pa Parker, Sage, Alyssa and Luke.  Trebor, as he liked to be called, was born on August 27, 1938 in Columbus, Mississippi.  He attended New Orleans Academy in New Orleans, LA and completed his first Bachelors Degree at the University of Alabama where he was also a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.  Trebor was a lifelong patriot and servant to our community in many ways.  He retired in May 1981 after 20 years of service to his country as an Artillery Officer including tours to Vietnam and South Korea.  After his retirement from the Army, Trebor completed a second degree in Accounting and then earned his teaching certificate so he could fulfill a lifelong passion of his teaching.  He taught for 15 years and retired from Medina Valley High School after teaching mathematics and having introduced Calculus into the curriculum.  He was driven to ensure his students had the best opportunity for future success and not only helped develop great minds but also great people.  He volunteered with the Red Cross at the Brooke Army Medical Center, volunteered to tutor children at a Childrens Home, and was an active Board Member for the Danny Kenney Memorial Scholarship Foundation at Texas A&M.  For fun, he was an avid golfer at Ft. Sam Houston who was known for keeping it in the fairway and for an excellent short game.  He was a member of the University of Alabama Alumni Group of San Antonio and enjoyed his swimming pool, fishing and conversing about current affairs.  Trebor has lived in San Antonio for 30 years and this is home.
