Robert Montoya Jr. Was called home to be with our Lord on Wednesday May 10. 2023 at the blessed age of 68. He was born on August 28, 1954, graduated from highlands High School and served in the United States Air Force, and received an Associate's Degree in Electronics. Robert then became a certified Nurses Aid and retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs, Biomedical Engineering Department. Robert served as an ordained Deacon at The Rock Christian Center. Robert is preceded in death by his father Robert Montoya, Sr; Step Father, Guadalupe Diaz Rodriguez, and brother James Montoya. He is survived by his mother, Rosa Rios Cantu Rodriguez; daughter Roberta Evelyn Montoya; grandson Elijah Montoya-Moss; siblings Daniel Rodriguez, Gladys Jaramillo (Boy), Rene Rodriguez (Theresa), Mary Rodriguez (Carlos), Jesse Montoya, Alan Montoya; and stepmother Regina Montoya. Robert was known by all as intelligent, passionate, generous, and Loyal. More than anything, he loved his family fiercely. He was a devoted father, grandfather, uncle, Brother, and friend to all who were blessed to have known him. The family will receive friends from 4pm to 8pm, Thursday May 18, 2023 at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels with a prayer service to be recited at 7pm. A funeral procession will depart the Funeral home at Friday 8:45 am for a graveside service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 9:15 am
