Rodolfo "Rudy" Lara Zapata, 90, passed away April 4, 2014. Rodolfo was born in San Antonio to Ruperto and Elivera Zapata on April 14, 1923. Rodolfo was preceded in death by his parents, Ruperto and Elivera; his brother Roberto, his sisters Maria Gamez, Elvira Martinez, and Irene Tijerina. Rodolfo is survived by Hortencia, his wife of 66 years; son Rodolfo Jr. (Lillian); his sisters, Consuelo De La Rosa and Margaret De Witt; three grandchildren, Katherine Herrera, Rodolfo Zapata III and Laura Lee Zapata; and five great-grandchildren, Katrina, Victoria, Rodolfo IV, Alexandria and Phillip. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to River City Hospice and family members for the support in his final days; and to friends for their prayers and kind words.
