Romie D. Jones

Romie D. Jones passed from this life on June 12, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents Samuel P. and Elsie Jones, brother: Edwin Jones; sisters: Shirley Johnson, Cleo Wheeler, and Cherry Jones. He is survived by Mildred his loving wife of 65 years, daughters: Karen (Cliff) Sepulveda and Sharon (Walter) Green; brothers: Thomas Jones and Jerry Jones; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Romie was a very generous and loving man. He helped take care of his parents-in-law for 11 years after they moved next door to him, treating them as his own parents until their passing. He volunteered for 10 years in two nursing homes while living in San Antonio, helping with church services for the residents. Romie played a very active role in babysitting several of his great-grandchildren when they were very young. He was a very dedicated worker and was never without a job throughout his marriage. He retired from the US Postal Service after 42 years of dedication to serving his community. He will be greatly missed but not forgotten.
