Ronald Frances Swider

It is with great Sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Husband, Father and Grandfather Ronald Frances Swider, age 90.  Ronald passed away peacefully January 8th, 2023 due to congestive heart failure. He was born March 4, 1932 in New Britain, Connecticut to Frances and Helen Swider.

Ron loved to teach children. He was a Science teacher in Connecticut for over 20 years. He also shared his love of food such as fresh cut fries, hot dogs, and Jim’s Pioneer Breakfast. For many years Ron loved to volunteer at the Northeast Retirement Community Center in San Antonio. It suited his servant heart.

His life was a living example of his favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

Ron is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Nancy and husband Michael, his son Thomas and wife Cindy, daughter Ellyn and husband Kirk and step-daughter Marie and her husband Sean. His beautiful Grandchildren, Nathan, Cody, Natalie, Gretchen, Cora, Hannah, Haley, and Hunter. Plus his great grandchildren and his niece and nephew. All of these he loved and touched deeply.

In lieu of flowers, Ron would love a donation to his local Animal Defense League, in San Antonio, Texas where he adopted his two fur babies Duncan and Patrick.
