Rosa Dames Gonzales Esquivel

Rosa Esquivel, born on June 27, 1927, and cherished by all who knew her, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025. As a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Rosa was the heart of her family, who remember her with immense love and gratitude.

Rosa dedicated much of her life to her family's business, where she assisted her parents in the restaurant they owned, managing the bookkeeping and paperwork aspects with great diligence and care. This role not only served as a foundation for her work ethic but also exemplified her commitment to her family and their shared aspirations. She was a wonderful homemaker and always looked forward to the time spent with her loved ones.

A nurturing spirit, Rosa was known for her ability to give insightful advice and support to those around her, reflecting her deep affection for her loved ones. Family meant everything to her, and she found joy in gathering them together, often delighting them with her home cooked meals. Her love extended beyond the dining table; Rosa had a profound passion for gardening, where she particularly enjoyed cultivating flowers and roses. Her love for beautiful things transformed her home into a haven that she generously shared with family and friends alike.

Rosa's hobbies included crocheting and collecting pretty items, which she treasured and often gifted to those close to her, demonstrating her thoughtfulness and penchant for sharing joy. Her legacy is one of kindness, nurturing, and an unwavering dedication to those she loved.

Rosa is survived by her son, George Esquivel (Martin Rodriguez); daughter, Patricia Esquivel; grandchildren, Pearl Esquivel, Edward Ethan Arredondo, Ray De La Cruz (Gabriela Montejano-De La Cruz) and Brandon Hightower; along with her great-grandchildren, Xavier Vega, Kaylia Goodman, Delilah Heaggans, Zoe-Alisabeth Rosa Esquivel, Jacob De La Cruz, Patrick De La Cruz, and Daniella De La Cruz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Margareto and Rita Gonzales; her husband, Patricio O. Esquivel; her daughter, Celia "Sally" Granados; her son, Gene Dames Esquivel; as well as her siblings, Louis, Manuel, Francisco, David, Mary, Sara and Rita; granddaughter, Vanessa Marie Navaira, and grandson, Gene Dames Esquivel, Jr.

Rosa Esquivel leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and the beauty she cultivated both in her garden and her relationships. She will be profoundly missed by her family and friends, who carry her spirit with them in their hearts. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude and thankfulness to AIP Hospice and her wonderful caretakers, Consuelo, Silviana, Valerie, Mari and Christine for the excellent care they took of Rosa.
