Rosie Rodriguez Leal passed away on June 7, 2023, at the age of 81. She passed after a lengthy illness. Rosie was born to Juan Leal and Genoveva Rodriguez on December 18, 1941, in San Antonio Texas. She was a loving mother and a devoted Jehovah’s Witness. Rosie had a large family as well as a large family of spiritual brothers and sisters.
Rosie is preceded in death by her brother, Alfred; sister, Mary; and grandsons, Nicolas and Francisco.
She is survived by her daughters, Stella (Mike), Sylvia (Isaias), and April; sons, Albert (Victoria); siblings, Ernest (Joanie), Dominga, Cathy (Louie), Mary Ann, Mercy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grand nephews and nieces. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Rosie had a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. She completed her associate degree at DeVry College in computer studies. Rosie supported and promoted higher level education to families. She worked many years at Tri-Way printing, Texas Driving School, as a school bus driver, and other jobs to support her family. Rosie took her greatest joy in her field service ministry with the Jehovah’s Witness church. Above all, she would stress our greatest focus should be on our spiritual growth and study. Rosie felt if our Jehovah’s house has many rooms for us, she should also share her home here on earth. Rosie provided a home to many family members and friends throughout her life. She had the heart of a true caregiver.
Please note as a devout Witness, mom wanted the focus to be on our Jehovah’s promise of resurrection and not on her body. She chose to have herself cremated for this reason. Per her request, there will be a memorial service open to all wanting to pay respects at her home Kingdom Hall, where a friend and elder will lead a service at:
5002 Ayrshire Dr, San Antonio, TX 78217 Saturday June 24th, 2023, 4-5pm. There will be no graveside burial service. Rosie's cremains will be at the service.
Following the service, we will meet at Hamilton Community center in Ladybird Johnson Park.10700 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX, 78217. To allow friends and family members to share a meal & their memory of Rosie.
