Ruben Gastelum

Ruben Gastelum was born in Brawley, CA on October 11, 1947 to Salvador and Nicolasa (Perales) Gastelum and passed from this life on April 19, 2016. He served in the United States Air Force, where he retired as a TSGT. Ruben as happiest when he was making someone else happy. He loved his family and would celebrate anything to have an excuse for a family dinner. Ruben loved classic rock, Chuck Norris movies and Rocky, his favorite TV show was M*A*S*H. He was also a huge Spurs fan. He is survived by his daughters, Michelle Lynn Gastelum, Anjanette Ramirez; son-in-law, Jason Tucke; grandchildren, Christiaan Thachery Ramirez, Robert Daniel Lopez, Jr, Rene Roberto Lopez, Lyllian Emile Ramirez, Alazea Sky Ramirez; siblings, Casey Gastelum, Sally Peters, Esperanza Gastelum, Joanne Rea and Joe Rae. The family will receive friends at Puente and Sons Funeral Chapels on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 with burial to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
