Rudy William Talbot

Rudy William Talbot passed away peacefully at his home on December 21, 2018, after a lengthy battle with ALS. He was 69 years old.
Rudy was preceded in death by his father, Carl H.; his mother, Hildegard; and his daughter Carla. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Julie; his son Sean and wife Lomisa; his daughter Sasha and husband Matthew; sister Renate and husband David. Rudy also leaves behind three grandchildren: Grace, Sydney and Jemma as well as step-grandson Zachary and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rudy was born in Germany and spent his youth moving around the world with his family while his father served in the Army. Upon graduating from Aberdeen High School in Aberdeen, Maryland, Rudy enlisted in the Navy. During his time in the Navy, he met Julie on the island of Malta and the couple would marry in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1972.
Following his time in the Navy, Rudy worked for a variety of companies including Otis Engineering and Toshiba Business Solutions. During his free time, he loved to travel with his family. He especially loved returning to Malta. He always joked about retiring and moving there someday. Rudy also enjoyed playing golf, watching sports and sitting in the driveway swapping stories with the neighbors.
Rudy’s family would love to thank Dr. Carlayne Jackson and her staff at UT Health who helped them understand ALS and for helping Rudy during his battle. They also wish to thank the ALS Association of Texas for their support and assistance over the years as Rudy fought the disease.
