Ryan Anthony Baker

Ryan Anthony Baker, 26, of Converse, TX, formerly of East Springfield, OH, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Alisha (Biester) Baker and step children, Neftali, Valeria, Rebeca, Raquel, Aiden and Alana. His parents, Malissa and Vernon Polen of Converse and Rodney J. Baker Sr. of Bloomingdale, OH. His brothers, Rodney J. Baker Jr. of Wintersville, OH, and Justin (Rosalia) Polen of San Antonio, TX. His sister, Tyra Odewale of San Antonio and brother in law Rahman Odewale of Converse. Grandparents, Linda Bender of Converse, Bruce Bender of East Springfield, OH, Vivian Springer of Weirton, WV and Ray Baker of Parlet, OH. Aunts, Christina (George) Wilson of Hopedale, OH, Tracy (Lantz) Herman of Jacksonville, FL, Cecelia Kemmer of Newport News, VA, Tina (Robert) Walulik of Richmond, OH, Lynda Yeager of Steubenville, OH, Jean Kovach and Kathy Wright of Wintersville, OH. Uncle, Jack (Sue) Carnes of Houston, TX. Cousins, Jacob, Katelin and Crystal Wilson, Martina Jolly, Caleb Kemmer, Dale and Lorrie Yeager, Kara Polen and Misty Wright. Ryan was 2007 graduate of Wagner High School in San Antonio, TX. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps, serving tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, eventually obtaining the rank of Sergeant. He served his community as a volunteer firefighter at both Converse and Camelot Fire Departments and was an active member of the Proof Project. Ryan was a member of the American Legion. He attended college at San Antonio Community College and was accepted to the University of Texas, pursuing a degree in dentistry.
A memorial service will be held from 4 to 6 pm on Monday, August 10, 2015, at the Puente and Sons Funeral Chapel, 14315 Judson Rd., San Antonio, TX. Also celebration of his life is being scheduled in Ohio by his Aunt Christina and Uncle George Wilson for family and friends.
