On Monday August 31,2020 Samuel “Sambo” Leija was granted his angels wings. He was born on April 5, 1980. Many say that Sambo’s life was short, but to those who were touched by him know that in his 40 years he lived life to the fullest.
Sambo liked people and having a good time. He had the most loving smile. That smile brighten any room he entered. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for you. If you asked him for help, he would be there, he never would tell you no.
Sam was like a magnet. He drew people to him with a genuine love and laughter. He never judged anyone. To Sambo, family was everything. Family didn’t just mean blood relationship. If you were a friend to him or anyone he knew, then you were family.
Sambo played sports all his life, but he really loved Soccer and Football. One of his accomplishments was being a member of Theodore Roosevelt High School 1995-96 undefeated State Championship Football Team. He passed that love of sports to his children.
