Sonia Maria Cancel

Sonia Maria Cancel, born January 10, 1951, passed from this life on August 28, 2017 at the age of 66. She is preceded in death by her husband Maximo Cancel; son Miguel Angel Cancel. Sonia is survived by her sons, Maximo Jr Cancel, Michael Cancel, Manuelito Cancel; daughters, Merary Underwood, Maritsa Cancel, and Magdalena Rivas; sister Lillian Vasquez; brother Ruben Cruz; numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Sonia was a loving mother and grandmother, who cared deeply. She enjoyed life, had a great sense of humor, and was known for the pranks she played on everyone. Sonia touched everyone that came into her life, her door was always open, and whomever she met, they fell in love with her right away. Halloween and Christmas were two of her favorite holidays, where she would take the opportunity to compete with her brother on "who made the best Lechon", a Puerto Rican delicacy, or turkey. Her love for the lord was unmatched and she will be missed.
