On Tuesday, July 6, 2021, Theodore “Ted” Geisinger, loving husband and father of five children, passed
away at the age of 80.
Ted was preceded in death by his father, Paul, his mother, Marie, his wife, Barbara, brother, Paul, and
sister-in-law, Catherine.
Ted is survived by his wife, Helena. He also leaves behind his children, Dawn Batton [Mike] in Lawtey,
Florida, Chic Geisinger [Cathy] in Interlachen, Florida, and his step-children Patrick Leal [Sandy],
Matthew Leal [Amanda] and Mark Leal. He was blessed with many grandchildren: Sarah Ford in Ft
Worth, TX, Charles Geisinger [Ashley] in Jacksonville, FL, Jennifer McCormick [Becky] in Middleburg, FL,
Katie Michelle Campbell in Jacksonville, FL, Addison Leal, James Leal, and his great granddaughter
Abigayle McMurtrey in Ft Worth, TX. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Ted was born on December 9, 1940 in Astoria, New York to Paul and Marie Geisinger. He served in the
United States Navy for 22 years and processed with a career in Drug and Alcohol Counseling in the states
of Florida, Kentucky and Texas finally retiring in 2002. On July 9, 1960, he married Barbara Miller, his
wife of 50 years. They raised two children, Dawn and Charles. After the passing of his wife, he married
Helena Schnaubelt on August 9, 2015, who has 3 boys.
Ted had a passion for cats. Through the years, he took in many homeless cats; feeding and offering them
all the love and care they could imagine. Ted also possessed a love for history, willing to share that
knowledge with others.
Visitation with be held at Puente and Sons Funeral Chapels at 14315 Judson Road on Monday, July 26,
2021 at 1000 to 1200 hours followed by a service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1315 hours.
The family is requesting in lieu of flowers a donation be made to Animal Defense League of Texas or
animal shelter of your choice.
