Devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother

Theresa C. Ramirez, 84, died Wednesday, February 9th 2022 at her San Antonio home with her family by her side.

Theresa was born January 13, 1938, in Dubuque, Iowa, and adopted by Frank and Manuela Rozales. The family moved down to Texas and is where Theresa has called home ever since. Theresa graduated and received her High School Diploma from Providence High School on May 24, 1956.

Theresa was wed to Victor Ramirez Sr. on May 23, 1964 and together they had 4 children and shared many years together raising them. Over the years Theresa has held many jobs but one of her greatest accomplishments was working at the Children’s Shelter of San Antonio where she cared for children in the states custody for many years before working in department stores and retiring at the age of 65.

Theresa was a woman on-the-go and loved to get out of the house and window shop the latest deals at any store within a 5-mile radius as well as dine in at any of the local Mexican restaurants. She was an avid game show watcher, loved crossword puzzles, talking with neighbors, and spent many years caring for her two four-legged companions; Tootie Lu Ramirez and Chiquita Bonita.

Theresa is survived by her children Deborah Ann Garcia, Annette Marie Ramirez, Victor Anthony Ramirez Jr. and Theresa Rose Ramirez. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister Amada V. Casares in 2002 and late husband Victor Ramirez Sr. in 2006. She leaves behind 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren who lovingly called her “Granny.”

Theresa will be remembered for her years of devotion and love to her family and friends. Her friendly spirit and unconditional love can never be replaced and will be sorely missed.

Visitation and Rosary will be held Thursday, February 24th from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapel. Funeral services and Mass will be held Friday, February 25th at 12:00p.m. Noon at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and burial will be held at Saint Mary’s Catholic Cemetery after services.

The Family would like to thank her Hospice Nurse, Elizabeth Sandoval, RN and Home Care Provider, Alene Castillo for their hours of constant care and compassion. Lastly, we would like to thank Chaplain Father Mark Rayas for the hours of prayer and companionship he gave to our beloved matriarch.
