Thomas (Tommy) E. Klein Jr. passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 17, 2021 at the Methodist Hospital Northeast with his family at his side holding his mom’s hand. He was born on May 1, 1972 in San Antonio to parents, Tom & Alice Klein. Tommy graduated from James Madison HS, class of 1990, where he played trombone in the band. After high school, Tommy earned a Bachelor’s degree in Ocean Engineering from A&M University and another from UTSA in Civil Engineering. He worked as a professional engineer for the City of Corpus Christi.
In addition to playing the trombone for the Beethoven Männerchor concert band, he played guitar and had quite a big collection of different types of guitars. Besides playing instruments, Tommy loved all kinds of music, Johnny Cash was one of his favorites. His other hobbies included soccer, disc golf, shooting guns and his mom wants you to know he was great at making fajitas and steaks! Tommy was extremely caring, loving and gracious, always helping others out and giving thoughtful gifts. He had a great sense of humor, best described by his close friend as being of superior intellect and wit with a humble delivery.
Tommy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Pete & Bennie Garcia and Otto & Mary Klein; his nephew, Rodney Wayne Dunsmore Jr. and his brother-in-laws, Dwayne Simpson and James Chappell. He is survived by his parents, Tom & Alice Klein; sisters Kristi Simpson Klein & Kayna Chappell; his nieces & nephews Allison & Justin Dunsmore, Kaden & Michelle Simpson, Adrian Villarreal Dunsmore and great nephew, Aldo Dunsmore.
