Thomas Jay Alonzo "TJ", was born into a military family on July 31, 1978 to Hector and Tina in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Throughout his childhood TJ lived in Alaska, South Carolina, Virginia and Texas, where he made his home. TJ graduated from Harlandale High School, and went to UTSA where he recieved his Bachelors in Mathematics, and became a teacher. He taught his first year at Terrell Wells Middle School and the following year he taught at Pleasanton Intermediate School. He continued his career as a teacher at various levels in Pleasanton ISD. He was also the UIL Calculator Coach, and his team won numerous trophies and medals. During his spare time TJ loved watching sports, especially the NY Giants and Atlanta Hawks with his Father and Brother. He also loved going out to eat, watching movies, playing video games and board games with his family and friends. TJ was avid collector of Star Wars, Dragonball Z and Transformers action figures and other memorabilia. Thomas Jay Alonzo was truly blessed with a beautiful mind and a funny disposition. He was born on July 31, 1978 and departed his life on July 30, 2020. TJ is survived by his parents Hector and Tina Alonzo and older brother Anthony Alonzo (Denise). In lieu of flowers, donations are being collected for a memorial bench at the Pleasanton Elementary School playground. Make checks out to Pleasanton ISD and note memorial for Mr Alonzo.
