Vincent Augustine Garcia, age 22, passed away on March 22, 2021. He was born on April 22, 1998 in San Antonio, Texas to Gloria Luz Tovar and Ramon Garcia. Vincent was born without disabilities, and he was very gifted in music with piano tunes, he demonstrated fluency in Spanish, English, and Japanese. On September 17, 2001 at three years of age, Vincent experienced a drowning, died, and was resuscitated. Vincent’s tragic accident left him with a severe brain injury, a quadriplegic, and nonverbal.
He struggled with and yet kept overcoming a myriad of arduous challenges in his life as a quadriplegic. Even with these challenges Vincent was very active in the Miracle League Mays Cardinals Baseball Team and received many awards and trophies. He also graduated from South West High School
Vincent won one physical battle at a time with his faith and relationship with Jesus. He fought for his life, from the womb until his last breath. What a trooper! Vincent inspired every life that he touched. His mother Gloria blossomed as a rose through her loving duties to care for her beloved sons. Well done good and faithful Vincent!
Vincent is survived by his mother Gloria Luz Tovar and his father Ramon Garcia, one sibling Ramon Sabastian Garcia, maternal grandmother Rosa Ortiz, paternal grandmother Maria Martinez and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Vincent was indebted to his mother, his brother Sabastian; Dr. Regina Champagne; and the many nurses and therapists who helped him. All of us deeply cared and loved him dearly.
