Beloved wife and mother Virginia Gonzalez Salazars’ zest for life will be remembered with love long after her passing. Virginia passed away on December 3, 2021 at the age of 82 after a courageous battle of medical complications, surrounded by her children who will strive to honor her memory by living their lives to the fullest. Virginia enjoyed being the most captivating social butterfly of any room she entered. She loved her family and friends with deep devotion, her children will remain her truest legacy. In her younger days friends called her “La Flacka†and most affectionately “Virgie†by her husband Cruz (deceased). She was preceded in death by her daughter (stillborn) Judy Lee Salazar, her husband Cruz M. Salazar, her grandson Nicholaus R. Salazar. Her parents, Annette J. Gonzalez, Carolina M. Gonzalez and Conrado Gonzalez, Sr. Her siblings, Lois Romero, Joseph Moran and brother-in-law, Leonel Vasquez, Sr. She is survived by her siblings, Julia G. Vasquez, Janie G. Rios (Domingo), Trinidad G. Abrego (Richard), Conrado Gonzalez, Jr., James Moran (Sylvia), Stanley Gonzalez (Lisa), Charles Gonzalez (Carmen). Her children, Leroy J. Salazar (Deidre), Jo Ann S. Stinnette (Ernest), Barbara Hernandez (John), Cruz M. Salazar III, (Peggy), Armando Salazar (MaryJane), Jacob Salazar (Lisa), Vivian S. Lara (Roger), Adrian Salazar.
Her grandchildren, Mark Vasquez (Shannon), Victoria S. Garza, Jett Salazar, Jillianne Castillo (Andrew), Jonathan Salazar (Gale), Joshua Salazar (Roxie), Jesse Salazar, Mariah Salazar (Samantha), Marissa Salazar, Sabrina Salazar, Zachary Salazar, Alexandra Vazquez (Valente), Jake Salazar, Brandy Salazar (John), John Lugo (Ana), Savannah L. Juarez (Michael), Vincent Lugo (Kristal), Roger Lara, Jr. (Alyssa), Devina Lara, Diego Elizardo, Adrianna Salazar, Valentin Ramirez, Roman Ramirez. Her great-grandchildren, Asiah Vasquez, Vincent Vasquez, Ava Loucks, Kaylee Lou, Grant Loucks, Josephine Giffin, Penelope Giffin, Landon Salazar, Eniyah Salazar, Delilah Salazar, Noah Vazquez, Isaiah Vazquez, Aliyae Vazquez, Israel Vazquez, Aurora Juarez, Autumn Juarez, Roger Lara III. Also, many, many numerous beloved nephews, nieces and friends.
Virginia G. Salazar will be greatly missed by her loved ones and always remembered in their hearts. The family would especially like to thank the nurses and doctors at Mission Trail Hospital 3rd Floor, who worked through great lengths during her hospital stay with much kindness and support.
