William Raymous Collins, beloved husband, son, brother, and friend, passed away on June 27, 2023 at the age of 65. His departure has left a void in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
Born on February 8, 1958, in San Antonio, Texas, William was the cherished son of SMSgt James W. Collins and Clara Cantu Collins who have preceded him in death along with his wife Cheryl Collins; brothers James and Douglas Collins; sisters Anita Rhodes and Mary G. Mabry. William learned the importance of compassion, perseverance, and hard work from a young age.
William proudly defended his country by serving in the United States Army. After his service in the army , William worked as an exceptional electrician for the rest of his life. He was a man with versatile skills and a can-do attitude, William was regarded as a jack of all trades. His innate ability to fix anything made him an invaluable resource to his family and friends. Whether it was repairing household appliances or lending a helping hand with home improvement projects.
William is survived by his daughter Deanna Sherwood and son Frankie Shula; grandchildren Marissa and Amber Benavidez, Autumn and Cheyenne Shula, and Ronson Seinwill; sisters Patricia McBride and Barbara Gault who will remember him fondly as their brother. In his life, William was blessed with good friends including David and Michael Sawyer, Vinnie Bilotto, Yvonne Zdunczyk, James Janavaras and Arthur Flores along with numerous nephews, nieces, and other family members.
A visitation service will be held on July 11th, 2023 at 10:00 am and memorial and prayer service following at 12:00 pm at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels located at 3520 S Flores St, San Antonio, TX 78204. During this time, loved ones can gather to pay their respects and share their memories of a life well-lived, celebrate William's life and offer prayers for his peaceful transition.
As a final tribute to William's life, a burial ceremony will take place at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on July 11th, 2023. The ceremony will begin at 2:00 pm at 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209. It is here that we will bid our last goodbyes and lay William to rest amongst the serenity of nature.
His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. Although he may no longer be physically present, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us all. May you find comfort in knowing that William is now at peace in eternal rest. He shall forever remain an inspiration to us all as we carry his memory forward in our hearts.
