Yvonne Boening McDonough, born December 9, 1935 in Galveston, Texas went to be with our Lord on June 2, 2008 when her enduring spirit finally slipped away from her fragile body. Yvonne was a gracious spirited woman, a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Yvonne received her Bachelors degree from St. Thomas and her Masters from the University of Houston. She also studied at the University of Vienna. An accomplished artist, her paintings are prized possessions in Houston art circles. She traveled extensively during her life, visiting 38 foreign countries. Yvonne did not know a stranger and gave generously of herself by volunteering her knowledge as an art therapist at St. Josephs Hospital in Houston. She is survived by her loving husband and caregiver, J. Moore McDonough; son, Moore McDonough and wife Denise; daughters, Ann Carr and husband David, Lawren Eichman and husband Scott; five grandsons, Austin and Blake Eichman, David and Sam Carr, Hunter McDonough; two granddaughters, Audrey Carr and Brooke McDonough. Yvonne leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones. The family wishes to thank the staff of VITAS Hospice for the loving care given to Yvonne during her last days.
